3SC Players Lament, Owed Four Months Salaries.
has
reliably gathered that players, coaches and the backroom staff of Shooting
Stars FC are being owed four months salary.
The
Oluyole Warriors suffered their worst defeat of the ongoing Nigerian
Professional Football League season on Sunday, losing 3-0 to FC
IfeanyiUbah at home.
Goals
from Godwin Obaje, Pascal Seka and a sublime free-kick from King Osanga
condemned the Fatai Amoo-led side to their eighth defeat of the season.
The
defeat left 3SC in the relegation zone in 19th place on 22 points from 20
matches.
One
player who spoke to newsmen in Ibadan revealed that though
the management have been catering for the players' feeding the players cannot
help their dependents financially as they have no funds due to their unpaid
wages.
The
player, a midfielder who featured in Sunday's 3-0 loss to FC
Ifeanyiubah, also pleaded with the club fans to be patient with the team.
"We
hope that they look into this, since the start of the season I have not been
paid," the player who pleaded anonymity said.
"It's
very sensitive and I don't want to comment further on this."
Former
coach Gbenga Ogunbote and former players who represented the club last season
are also still being owed their outstanding salaries.
"It’s
not fair to us, I’m appealing to our management to please look into this and do
the needful. Don't put my name oh!" another player who pleaded anonymity.
"We
need all the motivation we can get out of the relegation zone if things
change."
