Aaron Samuel To Return From Long-Term Injury In June
Super Eagles and CSKA Moscow
striker Aaron Samuel will return to action next month after a successful
recuperation.
The striker underwent two operations at a German hospital after he
damaged his knee ligaments during the first half of the Russian Cup final
against Zenit St Petersburg last May.
Aaron's close aide exclusively revealed on Monday that
the former Guangzhou RF striker has already put his dark days behind him and
has been declared fit to play football again next month.
CSKA Moscow finished the season as runners-up behind Spartak
Moscow as the Russian league ended last weekend, but Aaron is expected to
return to the club pre-season games later in August.
“Aaron is doing great and his recovery has been very
successful," the aide told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“He has been declared fit to play football again and should return
to what he loves doing from next month.”
CSKA Moscow re-signed Aaron from Chinese Super League side
Guangzhou R&F last year.
The Nigeria international signed a four-and-a-half-year deal which
will keep him with the Russian Premier League club till June 2021.
Samuel netted twice in seven appearances before suffering a knee
injury.
