Emenike’s Goal Drought Reaches Seven Months As Fenerbahce Win
Nigerian striker Emmanuel Emenike’s seven-month goal drought for
his Turkish club Fenerbache continued in Monday’s 2-1 league win over
Genclerbirligi, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The drought is his longest ever since he started his European
career with Karabukspor of Turkey in 2009.
Emenike, 30, replaced match hero Robin Van Persie, who scored a
brace, in the 80th minute of the encounter for the Nigerian’s 15th appearance
of the campaign.
The former Nigerian international has failed to score in his last
16 games in all competitions for the Yellow Canaries who are third in the
Turkish Super Lig table with 60 points from 32 games with two games left to
play.
The former Nigerian international has scored seven goals in 25
matches in all competitions so far this term but last found the back of the net
seven months ago for the Yellow Canaries when he was the match hero for his
side in their 1-0 win over Konyaspor in October 24, 2016.
