Confed Cup: Young Germans Thrash Mexico, Set Up Final Vs Chile

Germany scored two goals in the first eight minutes of their semifinal clash of the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup against Mexico on Thursday evening at the Fisht stadium, Sochi to claim a 4-1 win to set up the final of the tournament on Sunday against South American champions, Chile.
Leon Goretzka scored a brace while Timo Werner and Amin Younes got the other two for the Germans. Marco Fabian scored a consolation goal for CONCACAF champions Mexico.
Goretzka scored the Germans' first goal in the sixth minute when he picked a pass and without hesitation fired an unstoppable shot into the bottom left corner.
Gorezka doubled his team's lead just two minutes later when he showed great awareness from a quick counter to get to the ball before a couple of defenders and from inside the box slotted it into the bottom left corner.

In the 19th minute, Germany's Werner controlled a reverse pass deep inside the box and smacked the ball low towards the middle of the goal, but Mexico's goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa anticipated well and smothered the ball. 
Germany made it 3-0 in the 59th minute when Julian Draxler and Jonas Hector combined to set up Werner who rolled the ball home from close range.
 Fabian came off the bench in the second half in place of Giovanni Dos Santos and produced two shots that threatened to reduce the deficit but went off target.
Mexico's Raul Jimenez jumped high to meet a lofted pass around the penalty spot, but his header crashed against the crossbar with fifteen minutes left on the clock. 
Rafel Marquez headed the ball superbly towards goal in the 83rd minute, it was punched away by ter Stergen although the flag went up for an offside  The veteran defender had a similar chance just before the final whistle went up but the ball went out of danger.
Fabian scored from a powerful shot in the 89th minute to salvage some pride for Mexico before Younes scored Germany's fourth of the night and his second international goal in the 90th minute.
