FIFA Women’s Ranking: Ebi Expects NIgeria Rise From 34th, Calls For Top Friendlies

Super Falcons defender, Onome Ebi, is looking forward to an improvement in the monthly FIFA Women's World Ranking with Nigeria still in the 34th position in the latest results released on Friday.
The reigning women's AFCON champions are the top team in Africa, and Ebi while speaking with visionfm sport expresses her optimism that the team will improve on the ranking table if the team gets busy with internationdfriendly matches.
"First I'm happy we remain the number one in Africa. We found out that our opponents at the last Nations Cup in Cameroon have upped their ante so teams across Africa are improving," Ebi tells visionfm sport.

"We (Super Falcons) don't have a major tournament this year, 2017, but if we play one or two big friendlies against the top teams and get decent results, that could lift us before the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations qualifiers start next year,' the FC Minsk of Belarus central defender states.
The qualifiers for the 2018 Women's Africa Cup of Nations starts in February 2018, while the AFCON proper will hold in Ghana 17 November to 1 December, 2018.
Ebi played 17 league games, scored six goals and was yellow carded once in the 2016 season of the Women Premier League in Belarus.
Other Nigerian players at the club include: Emuedi Ogbayagbevkha, Halimat Ayinde, Gift Otuwe and Aminat Yakubu.
