IAAF Diamond League: Brume, Amusan’s Debut Delayed
Reigning Commonwealth Games long jump champion,Ese Brume and Africa's undisputed sprint hurdles queen,Tobi Amusan will have their debut at the money-spinning IAAF Diamond League debut after the duo failed to make the list of confirmed athletes for the eighth leg of the meeting, the Athletissima Thursday night in ‎Lausanne, Switzerland, vision sport reports.
Both Brume and Amusan made the provisional list of athletes invited for the meeting released by organisers of the event on Tuesday on their website but when the final list and start list for the event was released yesterday, the Nigerians failed to meet the cut.

vision sport could not confirm the reason for the final exclusion of Brume and Amusan as well as reigning world record holder in the 100m hurdles, USA's
Kendra Harrisson who only on Tuesday raced to a new 12.28 seconds at the Istvan Gyulai Memmorial Grand Prix in Hungary.
Brume, who was fifth (6.81m) at the Rio Olympics last year holds a personal season's best of 6.64m,11 centimetres shy of the 6.75m entry standard set by the IAAF for next month's World Championships in London and is running out of time and meets to qualify.
For Amusan who has already achieved the qualification standard for the London event following her historic 12.57 seconds,NCAA gold-winning run in Eugene, Oregon,USA last month, her exclusion could only mean she has lost the opportunity to compete against the very best in the world, including Harrison, the
‎world record holder at 12.20 seconds at the meeting before the IAAF Worlds in London.
