NPFL Round Up: Rangers Beat Remo Stars to Blow Title Race Open, As Plateau United Sinks Heartland In Awka

Rangers International Football Club of Enugu has blown open the title race for the 2023/2024 NPFL season after beating Remo Stars one-nil in Enugu. 

Fidelis Ilechukwu side consolidated on their away victory in Gombe to beat title challengers, Remo Stars in a Match Day 22 fixture decided at the Main Bowl of Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

Struggling Heartland FC continued their poor form after suffering a 1-5 defeat at home to Plateau United at the Awka Township Stadium. 

Christian Obi as Head Coach of Heartland, who has failed to pick any victory after 15 unsuccessful attempts are sitting deep in the relegation zone on the 20th position. 

High-flying Lobi Stars lost by 2-0 in Akure to Sunshine Stars after playing the majority of the game with a man disadvantage. John Lazarus was issued the marching order after he was adjudged to have handled in his box in the 14th minute. 

Sporting Lagos compounded the woes of Akwa United after coming from behind to beat the Promise Keepers 2-1 in Lagos while Bayelsa United extended their five-match unbeaten run with a comfortable 2-0 win over Doma United. 

Katsina United got the better of Kano Pillars in the North West derby in Katsina after a 3-2 victory. 

Thursday will see Enyimba FC take on Gombe United while Abia Warriors confront Kwara United.
