African Games: Omar Assar Beat Aruna Quadri Again

The hope of the Nigeria table tennis star Aruna Quadri to win the gold medal at the 2023 African Games has been dashed, BSNSports.com.ng report.

The Nigerian international reached the final after a superb semi-final game on Tuesday afternoon.

He confronted the Egyptian star Omar Assar in the final and succumbed to the firepower of the North African player.

Omar won the first set 11-8 and Aruna bounced back strongly to claim the 2nd and 3rd set 11-2, 11-2.

Omar clinched the 4th set 11-7 before Aruna won the 5th set 11-9 while the Egyptian international won the last two sets 11-9, 11-0 and 4-3 in his favour.

Omar has made it 3 consecutive victories over Aruna in the final of the African Games.
